About the Pixelate Image

Pixelation averages each block of pixels into a single color — the classic censor mosaic. Unlike blur, it's irreversible enough to genuinely hide faces and plates. Choose 8–12px for sticker-mosaic style, 32px+ for serious redaction.

How it works

The tool averages each block of pixels into a single color, producing the classic mosaic: block size controls how coarse the effect reads. Because averaging happens on your device, sensitive content is censored without any upload — the whole point when the photo itself is the secret.

How to use it

Drop up to 10 images, set the block size (8–16px obscures faces in typical photos; larger for smaller images), and process. Verify nothing is recognizable in the preview, then download.

Supported formats & limitations

Accepts .jpg, .png and .webp up to 30MB each, 10 per batch. Pixelation applies to the whole image — for selective censoring, crop the sensitive region, pixelate, and reassemble. Note that very small block sizes may not fully obscure text.

Common use cases

Censoring faces, plates and documents before sharing screenshots; making retro game-style art from modern photos; creating privacy-safe teaching materials; and generating stylized backgrounds that don't distract from foreground UI.

Frequently asked questions

Where are my images processed?

Everything runs locally in your browser via the Canvas API. Your picture never leaves your machine — there is no upload step at all, so processing is as private as working in an offline editor.

Can it open JPG, PNG and WebP files?

The common formats are covered — JPG, PNG or WEBP, each up to 30 MB. Queue them one batch at a time.

How many images can I process at once?

Batch runs take up to 10 files at once (30 MB each). There's no account, no daily quota and no watermark — process as many batches as you need.

Can I fine-tune the result before downloading?

Yes — settings include Pixel block size. Each run regenerates the preview, so you can compare options before downloading.
