About the Sepia Image

Sepia recreates the warm brown-black tone of 19th-century albumen prints. The browser's sepia filter preserves luminance structure while shifting hues into that nostalgic amber range — dial it down for a hint of warmth, up to 100% for full antique.

How it works

The filter transforms each pixel through the classic sepia matrix — trading saturation for warm browns weighted toward red and yellow channels. The intensity slider blends between your original colors and full sepia, so you can dial in everything from a faint golden warmth to a deep antique look.

How to use it

Add up to 10 images, set the sepia strength (60–80% is the nostalgic sweet spot), and process. Preview the tone on each result, then download files or the whole batch as a ZIP.

Supported formats & limitations

Accepts .jpg, .png and .webp up to 30MB each, 10 per run. Sepia flattens color variety by design; applying it to already-muted photos deepens the vintage feel while vivid scenes produce more dramatic before/after deltas.

Common use cases

Restyling modern photos as heirlooms, theming event invitations, giving blog and social graphics a cohesive retro palette, and making new family photos match century-old album prints for side-by-side displays.

Frequently asked questions

How private is Sepia Image?

Everything runs locally in your browser via the Canvas API. Your picture never leaves your machine — there is no upload step at all, so processing is as private as working in an offline editor.

Which file types are supported?

JPG, PNG or WEBP files up to 30 MB each are accepted. Drop in one file or a whole batch (paste and drag also work), check the preview, and export in the format shown at the download step.

How many images can I process at once?

There are no artificial limits: use it as often as you like, free. Practical caps are 30 MB per image and 10 files per batch, and outputs stay watermark-free.

Can I fine-tune the result before downloading?

You can adjust Sepia strength. Results are previewed after processing, so tweak values and re-run until the output looks right.
