About the Blur Image

Gaussian blur smooths detail by averaging neighboring pixels with a bell-curve weighting — the same blur pro editors use. Use small radii (1–4px) for dreamy soft focus, large radii (20px+) to censor faces, plates and screens.

How it works

The tool applies a true Gaussian convolution through the canvas filter pipeline, spreading each pixel's influence over a neighborhood scaled by your radius setting. Low values create portrait-style soft focus; high values dissolve detail entirely for censoring or background use.

How to use it

Add up to 10 images, drag the blur slider while judging the effect level you need, and process. Each result previews instantly; download files individually or as one ZIP.

Supported formats & limitations

Accepts .jpg, .png and .webp up to 30MB each, 10 per batch. Blur is applied to the whole image — for blurring only a region, crop that region first, blur it, and reassemble. Heavy blur plus JPEG output can look mushy; prefer PNG for crisp-edged designs.

Common use cases

Softening backgrounds behind text overlays, censoring license plates and faces before posting, creating dreamy soft-focus portraits, and generating placeholder art for design mockups where real content isn't ready.

Frequently asked questions

Is my image uploaded to a server when I use Blur Image?

Everything runs locally in your browser via the Canvas API. Your picture never leaves your machine — there is no upload step at all, so processing is as private as working in an offline editor.

Can it open JPG, PNG and WebP files?

The common formats are covered — JPG, PNG or WEBP, each up to 30 MB. Queue them one batch at a time.

How many images can I process at once?

Batch runs take up to 10 files at once (30 MB each). There's no account, no daily quota and no watermark — process as many batches as you need.

Can I fine-tune the result before downloading?

The controls cover Blur radius. Nothing is baked in until you press the action button, and every run gives you a fresh preview to check.
