About the B&W Threshold

Thresholding is the harshest — and most useful — black & white: every pixel becomes pure black or pure white with no grays. Ideal for stencils, laser-engraver prep, stamps, QR-adjacent art and high-contrast logos.

How it works

Every pixel is judged against your threshold: brighter becomes pure white, darker becomes pure black — no grays survive. It's the binarization step that laser engravers, vinyl cutters and stencil workflows actually need, and the slider lets you bias the cutoff until the subject reads correctly.

How to use it

Drop up to 10 images, set the threshold while previewing (raise it to keep more as black), optionally invert, and process. Download the stark result in your chosen format.

Supported formats & limitations

Accepts .jpg, .png and .webp up to 30MB each, 10 per batch. Anti-aliased edges become hard jaggies — that's inherent to 1-bit output. For smoother monochrome that keeps grays, use the grayscale tool instead.

Common use cases

Preparing artwork for laser engraving, vinyl cutting and screen-print stencils; creating high-contrast stamps and signatures; generating binary masks for further processing; and makingQR-code-friendly, scan-safe graphics.

Frequently asked questions

Where are my images processed?

Everything runs locally in your browser via the Canvas API. Your picture never leaves your machine — there is no upload step at all, so processing is as private as working in an offline editor.

Which input formats does B&W Threshold accept?

Common formats are covered: JPG, PNG or WEBP, each up to 30 MB. Paste from the clipboard, drag and drop, or use the select button.

What are the size and batch limits?

Up to 10 images per batch, 30 MB per file, and unlimited runs — no signup, no counters, and no watermark stamped on results.

Can I fine-tune the result before downloading?

Yes — settings include Threshold, Invert (black background). Each run regenerates the preview, so you can compare options before downloading.
