About the Resize by Percentage

The fastest way to shrink or grow an image proportionally. Slide to 50% for quarter-area previews, 75% for gentle slimming, or up to 400% for enlarging. Multi-step downscaling keeps results crisp at any percentage.

How it works

Instead of pixel math, you pick a percentage and the tool does the arithmetic: 50% quarters the total pixel count and usually shrinks the file to a small fraction of its original size. Internally it downsamples in steps for clean results, and quality/format controls handle the encoding side.

How to use it

Add up to 10 images, drag the percentage slider — under 100 shrinks, over 100 enlarges — choose an output format and quality, then process. Every result shows its new pixel dimensions so you always know exactly what changed.

Supported formats & limitations

Accepts .jpg, .png and .webp up to 30MB per file, 10 per run. Percentages above 100 stretch pixels rather than inventing detail; keep enlargements modest or use the Enlarge Image tool for better upscaling.

Common use cases

The fast path when exact pixels don't matter: making a photo 'about half size' for a slide, trimming camera files for chat, or shrinking scans before OCR. Batch mode handles whole folders' worth of consistent scaling.

Frequently asked questions

Is my image uploaded to a server when I use Resize by Percentage?

Everything runs locally in your browser via the Canvas API. Your picture never leaves your machine — there is no upload step at all, so processing is as private as working in an offline editor.

Can it open JPG, PNG and WebP files?

The common formats are covered — JPG, PNG or WEBP, each up to 30 MB. Queue them one batch at a time.

How many images can I process at once?

Batch runs take up to 10 files at once (30 MB each). There's no account, no daily quota and no watermark — process as many batches as you need.

Can I fine-tune the result before downloading?

The controls cover Scale to, Output format, Quality. Nothing is baked in until you press the action button, and every run gives you a fresh preview to check.
