About the Favicon Generator

Turn any logo into a complete favicon set: 16px browser tab, 32px taskbar, 48px desktop, 96px and 180px Apple touch icons, plus a multi-resolution favicon.ico — everything a modern site needs, generated locally in seconds.

How it works

The generator center-fits your source image onto a square canvas — with optional padding and background color — then renders it at every standard favicon size using smooth downsampling. All sizes are bundled into a multi-resolution .ico (which Windows expects) plus individual PNGs for modern platforms, including the 180px touch icon.

How to use it

Drop one square-ish image (SVG, PNG, JPG or WebP), set padding and background if desired, and generate. Each size appears as a preview tile — check the tiny ones are still legible — then download the pack and drop the files in your site root.

Supported formats & limitations

Accepts .png, .jpg, .webp and .svg up to 30MB; output is a ZIP containing favicon.ico plus 16/32/48/96/180px PNGs. Source images sharper than 256px produce the cleanest small sizes; logos with transparent backgrounds work best.

Common use cases

Every new website, web app and PWA needs this exact file set. Indie hackers shipping side projects, agencies templating client sites, and open-source maintainers refreshing project branding all run this once per release.

Frequently asked questions

Which files do I need?

Upload favicon.ico plus favicon-32.png to your site root and reference the PNGs in your HTML head. The 180px file works as your Apple touch icon.

What sizes does the favicon set include?

The complete set: 16 px browser-tab icon, 32 px taskbar, 48 px desktop shortcut, 96 px, a 180 px Apple touch icon, and a multi-resolution favicon.ico that bundles the small sizes in one file — everything a modern website needs.

Where do I put the favicon files on my website?

Upload favicon.ico plus the PNG sizes to your site root, then reference them in your HTML <head>. Most browsers pick up /favicon.ico automatically; the PNGs are declared with <link rel="icon"> tags for sharper results on high-DPI screens.
