About the Optimize JPG for Web

Camera JPEGs embed thumbnails, color profiles and uncompressed padding. Re-encoding in the browser strips all of it and applies tuned quantization — a 6MB camera JPG routinely becomes a 600KB web asset with no visible change.

How it works

Camera JPEGs carry heavy EXIF blocks and conservative encoder settings tuned for quality, not bytes. This tool decodes your JPG, drops the metadata baggage, and re-encodes at a quality level balanced for screen viewing — where 75–85 is indistinguishable from 100 at normal zoom.

How to use it

Drop up to 10 .jpg files, adjust the quality slider if you like, and process. The before/after sizes tell the story per file; results can be downloaded one by one or as a single ZIP for bulk hand-offs.

Supported formats & limitations

Accepts .jpg and .jpeg up to 30MB per file, 10 per batch; output is JPEG. Each pass is a fresh JPEG generation, so avoid stacking repeated optimization rounds on the same file — work from the original when re-tuning.

Common use cases

The routine step before publishing photos to a store, portfolio or CMS. Real-estate agents squeeze listing galleries; content teams hit image budgets without touching Photoshop; anyone's camera roll gets web-ready in one batch.

Frequently asked questions

Is my image uploaded to a server when I use Optimize JPG for Web?

Everything runs locally in your browser via the Canvas API. Your picture never leaves your machine — there is no upload step at all, so processing is as private as working in an offline editor.

What kind of image files work with this tool?

JPG inputs are supported, up to 30 MB per file. For exotic formats, convert them first with one of the converter tools, then come back.

What are the size and batch limits?

You can queue 10 files per run, each up to 30 MB. Results download individually or bundled as a single ZIP.

Can I fine-tune the result before downloading?

The controls cover JPEG quality. Nothing is baked in until you press the action button, and every run gives you a fresh preview to check.
