About the Image Size Reducer

A precision reducer that pairs dimension scaling with quality tuning and shows the before/after math for every file. Scale to 50% for quarter-area thumbnails or 75% for gentle slimming — with the savings printed right on each result card.

How it works

The reducer scales your image by a percentage of its original dimensions using multi-step resampling — which preserves far more detail than a single naive downscale — then re-encodes at your chosen quality and format. The results panel pairs every output with its original size so the trade is never a guess.

How to use it

Drop up to 10 images, set the scale percentage (50% quarters the pixel count), pick a quality level and output format, then process. Review each before/after pair, tweak, re-run if needed, and download individually or zipped.

Supported formats & limitations

Accepts .jpg, .png and .webp up to 30MB per file, 10 per batch; output can be JPEG, WebP or PNG. Reducing by percentage is proportional; if you need exact pixel targets instead, use the Image Resizer with width/height fields.

Common use cases

The tool for 'just make it smaller' moments: oversized scans, screenshots destined for docs, camera files headed to chat apps. Because it shows savings numerically per file, it's also a nice teaching tool for non-technical teammates learning image weight.

Frequently asked questions

Is my image uploaded to a server when I use Image Size Reducer?

Everything runs locally in your browser via the Canvas API. Your picture never leaves your machine — there is no upload step at all, so processing is as private as working in an offline editor.

Which file types are supported?

JPG, PNG or WEBP files up to 30 MB each are accepted. Drop in one file or a whole batch (paste and drag also work), check the preview, and export in the format shown at the download step.

How many images can I process at once?

There are no artificial limits: use it as often as you like, free. Practical caps are 30 MB per image and 10 files per batch, and outputs stay watermark-free.

Can I fine-tune the result before downloading?

The controls cover Scale dimensions to, Quality, Output format. Nothing is baked in until you press the action button, and every run gives you a fresh preview to check.
