About the Enlarge Image

Upscaling can't invent detail, but multi-step growth (doubling repeatedly with high-quality smoothing) plus unsharp masking produces noticeably cleaner results than single-pass stretching. Use 2× for prints and presentations, 4× for posters where some softness is acceptable.

How it works

Instead of stretching in one jump, the tool interpolates in repeated doubling steps, which preserves smoother gradients and straighter edges, then applies an unsharp-mask convolution to restore perceived crispness. It can't invent detail that was never captured — but it gets far closer to clean than a naive scale.

How to use it

Drop one image, choose 2x, 3x or 4x, toggle sharpening on (recommended for screenshots and photos alike), pick a quality level, and process. Compare the preview against the original and adjust before downloading.

Supported formats & limitations

Accepts .jpg, .png and .webp up to 30MB; single-image runs. 4x on a low-resolution source will still look soft up close — the bigger the factor, the more the original resolution limits the result.

Common use cases

Rescuing small images for larger placements: a 400px web graphic destined for a slide, old photos being printed at modest sizes, icons needed at 2x for retina displays, and screenshots that must fill a presentation slide.

Frequently asked questions

Where are my images processed?

Everything runs locally in your browser via the Canvas API. Your picture never leaves your machine — there is no upload step at all, so processing is as private as working in an offline editor.

Can it open JPG, PNG and WebP files?

The common formats are covered — JPG, PNG or WEBP, each up to 30 MB. One photo is processed per run.

How many images can I process at once?

Files can be up to 30 MB each, one per run. There's no account, no daily quota and no watermark — process as many images as you need, one after another.

Can I fine-tune the result before downloading?

Yes — settings include Scale factor, Apply edge sharpening, Output quality. Each run regenerates the preview, so you can compare options before downloading.
